Class Teacher
Reports To: School Director
Position Overview
The Class Teacher’s main responsibility is to effectively implement the Happy Kids Curriculum and facilitating the students’ personal, social and emotional development. The Class Teacher works collaboratively with all staff members, parents and students and strives to ensure all interactions meet the needs of all students in line with the mission, philosophy, aims and safeguarding guidelines of the school.

Qualifications and Experience
- Holds a valid teaching certification (or equivalent) in their teaching field
- Proficient in oral and written English
- At least two years experience teaching Early Childhood and Reception students
- Technology literate in Web and Google Applications
Preferred Skills and Experience
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree, professional development in areas of best practice
- Experience with Course Management software
- Experience with online curriculum documentation
Key Responsibilities
- Implements school policies and procedures to support Happy Kids’ Mission, Philosophy, Aims and Safeguarding guidelines.
Main Duties
- Works in accordance with Happy Kids policies, understanding and implementing all school policies.
- Coordinates the work of the Assistant Teachers.
- Demonstrates high standards of spoken and written English (displays, Newsletters, Meeting Minutes, Weekly Plans, observations, assessments, eyLogs, etc.)
- Uses a range and balance of teaching strategies.
- Uses a variety of resources representing multiple perspectives.
- Empowers students to feel responsible and to take action.
- Involves students actively in their own learning.
- Pursues open-ended inquiry and real-life investigations.
- Maintains constant awareness of the needs of second language learners.
- Addresses the needs of students with different levels and types of ability.
- Uses a range and balance of assessment strategies.
- Involves students, parents and colleagues in the assessment process.
- Active participation in constructive professional appraisal based directly on the points in the job description, therefore continually working to improve learning for students.
- Regularly posting eyLog Learning Journeys according to curriculum expectations, outlined by the School Director.
- Supervising and mentoring Teacher Assistants when they write their eyLog Learning Journeys.
- Maintains high standards of dress and conduct, and generally sets a good example to all Happy Kids children.
- Maintains positive relationship with parents.
