At about 10-12 months old, babies begin to interpret the facial expressions of the people around them to make sense of new or unclear situations. The Friendly Frogs’ age has continued to refine this skill, but may still only use broad categories of emotion, like happy or sad. Helping the Friendly Frogs identify and recognize their own emotions helps them to understand their own feelings and those of people around them.
