Our Tiny Tigers enjoyed a rich and engaging outdoor learning experience, with a focus on early mathematical development. The session began with a lively number song, supporting the children in building confidence with number recognition joyfully and familiarly. Following this, the children explored number cards and took part in a hands-on activity where they “watered” the spring flowers by carefully counting out the correct number of beads to match each numeral. This activity encouraged accuracy, concentration, and a meaningful connection between numbers and quantity. In addition, the children practised representing numbers using their fingers, developing their understanding of one-to-one correspondence. They were also introduced to the directionality of counting, supporting early foundations for more advanced mathematical concepts. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm, curiosity, and perseverance throughout the session. We are incredibly proud of their progress and look forward to watching them continue to grow in confidence as young mathematicians.
