Our hello song is an important ritual for our music class. It provides both a closing to each class and an important connection with each Friendly Frog. “Routines are essential for young children. Routines help children learn to tell time and regulate their internal clocks. Children learn to predict what will happen next, and in doing so, they feel empowered to tackle the task. The goal of routines is continuity. The goal of rituals is connection. Rituals create sacred space designated for togetherness and unity.”
