The Cheeky Monkeys had an exciting musical week full of rhythm, movement, and discovery. They practised quarter notes (ta) and rests (sh) by tapping and clapping with their colourful Lumi sticks, bringing rhythms to life. The children went on a pretend walk through the Amazon rainforest, searching for lizards and other creatures while moving and singing with excitement. Each child explored the resonator bars, making funny “hee-haw” sounds and experimenting with different notes. They also discovered the pan pipe, listening carefully to the various sounds it can make, and learnt some Spanish words, singing songs while practising these new words. They practised keeping a steady beat and recognising simple rhythm patterns while having so much fun. Every action encouraged creativity, confidence, and imagination, leaving the Cheeky Monkeys filled with joy and a growing love for music and movement.
