As we welcomed the new academic year, the children returned to the world of Chess, revisiting familiar ideas and reconnecting with their previous learning. They refreshed their understanding of the chessboard and explored the unique roles and identities of each chess piece. We then focused our attention on the King, revisiting its movement and discovering why this important piece holds such a special place on the chessboard. Through playful exploration and discussion, the children strengthened their understanding of the game's basic structure and rules.
