Outdoor Education – Getting Closer to Nature

Happy Kids International Kindergarten and Nursery is taking part in the Erasmus+ project “Outdoor Education – Getting Closer to Nature” to develop a consistent, safe and pedagogically coherent approach to outdoor learning across all six classes, from 18 months to 7 years.

Our project responds to the need for a shared approach, focusing on outdoor pedagogy, child-led inquiry, curriculum links, inclusion, and risk–benefit assessment.

What will we do?

🌿 Staff will take part in Erasmus+ training courses and job-shadowing to strengthen their skills in outdoor and experiential learning, curriculum integration, inclusion and safe outdoor practice.

👥 Teachers will share their mobility learning with colleagues and demonstrate practical approaches that can be adapted at Happy Kids.

🌱 At least 12 new outdoor learning activities will be introduced across our six classes.

📖 We will develop and embed an Outdoor Education Framework within the Happy Kids Curriculum Plan, supported by shared planning and methodology.

🤝 We will strengthen European professional cooperation through the exchange of good practice and the development of resources with other educational organisations.

Stronger teacher competence in outdoor education and curriculum integration.
Improved children's wellbeing, independence, social skills, curiosity and engagement.
More consistent, inclusive and meaningful outdoor learning throughout the year.

Teachers will learn through Erasmus+ mobility, reflect on their learning, share it with colleagues, apply new approaches with children and develop successful practices that can become part of everyday life at Happy Kids.
