This week, the Tiny Tigers participated in a range of engaging activities designed to strengthen fine motor development, coordination, and spatial awareness. One of the most popular experiences was the “Feed the Birds” sensory bin, which successfully integrated early mathematical thinking. Children observed number cards and carefully counted and scooped the corresponding number of spoons of birdseed to feed the birds. This activity supported one-to-one correspondence, counting skills, and hand–eye coordination while also offering rich sensory stimulation. Another highly enjoyed task involved sorting colourful pom-pom balls by colour, shape, and size using tweezers. One of the children fondly referred to this activity as “creating rainbow lunch.” The experience not only encouraged classification and early cognitive skills but also significantly developed pincer grasp strength, precision, and visual discrimination. Another challenge of the week was the “name tracing activity,” during which children could practise writing their own names while focusing on correct pencil grip and controlled line formation. The highlight of the week was the outdoor play in the yard, where the children could chase soap bubbles and draw on the pavement with chalk. These activities were not only extremely fun but also helped develop their fine motor skills.
