An instrument play-along offers numerous opportunities for the Tiny Tigers to practise their social skills. At the beginning of the activity, we encourage the children to independently select instruments for themselves, promoting decision-making and self-reliance. As they play together, they naturally interact with their friends, learning to take turns, listen to each other, and enjoy making music as a group. At the end of the session, the Tiny Tigers work together to tidy up, putting the instruments away and preparing for the next activity. This collaborative process is a significant step in their development of cooperation as they learn to share responsibility, work alongside their peers, and contribute to a common goal. Through these actions, they also develop important relationship-building skills and begin to understand the value of empathy as they consider the needs and actions of others in the group.
