The same song can sound completely different depending on who sings it or which instrument is used to play it. Even when the key, tempo, and articulation stay the same, there is still something that sets each performance apart. That difference is called timbre—the unique character, tone, or sound quality of a voice or instrument. In this lesson, the Tiny Tigers explored a wide range of timbres through activities designed to develop their musical appreciation and expression. They practised identifying and distinguishing different sounds, shared their personal sound preferences, and created their sounds to express themselves musically.
