One of the fundamental aspects of music is tempo. We learn to move quickly when we are in a hurry or excited and slowly when we need to be careful or want to extend something we enjoy. You may have noticed that your child enjoys fast and slow music equally or that they prefer one tempo to another. Experiencing a variety of tempi (and learning to distinguish among them) helps with many aspects of your child’s life, including language, reading, music, and sports.
