Learning mathematics in early childhood should be fun and meaningful. This week, we took our learning outdoors to play some fun games while reinforcing number concepts.In the Number Bean Bag Race, the Friendly Frogs run to grab a numbered bean bag, then race back and call out the number. This game builds number recognition, confidence and coordination. In the Number Toss Game, children aim and toss bean bags into numbered hula hoops, matching a given number or choosing their favourite to practise number matching and one-to-one correspondence. During the Nature Numbers Match, the Frogs collect natural items, leaves, sticks or stones and place them on cards with matching numbers, combining counting with outdoor exploration. Through these games, the Friendly Frogs are developing a strong foundation in early numeracy and experiencing the joy of learning through play.
