When the Cuddly Koalas hear music, their natural instinct is to respond. There are many ways to respond to music, but this lesson focuses on just one-responding with movement. In responding to music, the Koalas are learning to listen, evaluate, and then coordinate their body’s movements to interpret and react to the music’s rhythm, beat, and mood. Combining movement and music can help children express their feelings, as well as teach them patterns, pulse, rhyme, and structure, all without the need for spoken language.
