Music can have a strong effect on our emotions. It can therefore be a powerful tool for teaching the Koalas how to soothe themselves and regulate their emotions-a key skill that plays an important role in problem-solving and learning in all stages of life. By breathing deeply and relaxing, we are modeling for our children what ‘calm’ looks and feels like. We can further their understanding by verbally describing how their bodies might feel (relaxed, loose, easy) in this state.
