We have had an eventful fortnight. Our current unit, named ‘Systems’, has been allowing the children to learn more about the human body and how it operates. The Cheeky Monkeys were very enthusiastic during the activities in this inquiry like what they wonder about the body, doing research, bringing related materials to the classroom, presenting them and sharing what they have learned about their body. They found the brain, the heart and the muscular system as the most interesting topics in the human body.
Meanwhile, The Cheeky Monkey class had been working hard on numbers from 10 to 20. They have been discovering and learning about ‘addition’, ‘subtracting’, and ‘place value chart’. We practiced these mathematical concepts by reading a very special book called ‘One is a Snail, Ten is a Crab’.
The Cheeky Monkeys love celebrating fun and special days together. We discussed what love means to them and the ways of sharing and expressing love to understand the importance of this day. They drew and wrote about how to spread love. To celebrate Valentine’s Day, they sang and performed a dance together.
