Moving slowly can be a huge challenge for young children. The contrast of largo to most children’s speedy tempo is a comparison worthy of practice. Children need to learn how to slow down when riding a bike, running down a hill, walking in a line, or working with others. Managing their own physical tempo helps children adjust to different situations, maintain safety, and cooperate with others who may have a tempo different from their own.
